Safeguarding Commitment
The Servite Order has zero tolerance for abuse of any kind and is actively committed to fostering communities of safeguarding that recognise and uphold the dignity and rights of all children and vulnerable adults.
We listen to the voices of children and vulnerable adults as we constantly strive to remain vigilant, make improvements and build a strong culture of safeguarding.
As a member congregation of Catholic Religious Australia, the Servite Order is producing documented policies and procedures to comply with the National Safeguarding Standards established by Catholic Professional Standards Ltd and to prevent risks to children and vulnerable adults.
The Servite Order complies with all laws relating to mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse, including contacting the police immediately where there may be immediate risk of harm.
Anyone who brings forward a suspicion, concern, knowledge or allegation of current or past abuse of a child or vulnerable adult to the Servite Order will be responded to sensitively, respectfully, actively and in a timely manner.
The Servite Order has developed The Servite Response to further respond to and protect children and vulnerable adults. The Servite Response offers reparation to children and vulnerable adults who, whilst in the care of the Servite Order or its related parties, were subjected to sexual abuse. We encourage those affected to access The Servite Response via the tab on this website.
